Updates

Our good old friend, goal counter is published after strong demand for it to be put up again since its departure last year. Goals will be closely monitored and recorded and players will not have to worry about their goals not being 'spotlighted'. Only goals produced from official matches will be recorded and the ones that are produced in trainings or free play are not counted.

Secondly, there is an Underdog training held today and newly-appointed forward Fayyaz began his first training and not surprisingly, with the Underdogs. Zulhilmi improved tremedously(serious) and his teammates agree that he should be back in the starting eleven after a long absence. Nothing much to elaborate here...

Former striker Anthony Kang showed up surprisingly for today's Underdogs' training and sparked interest for his contract renewal. The conclusion if he will rejoin Xenon will remain a summer curiousity.

Transfer Updates

This post is to inform you that these players have been retrenched due to poor attendance:

Number 4 - Defender - Kelvin
Number 12 - Striker - Anthony

May these players find a better future outside Xenon. Next, ex- Xenon Muhd Haiqal has been signed in Xenon and his assigned number is 4 with an undisclosed fee. He will operate as Centre Attacking Midfielder and is capable of doing good counter-attacks. Finally, with the departure of Kelvin, Number 14 Chan Jin Xuan has been upgraded to Centre Back defender and his number will change to 15. Summer move for Nicholas is dismissed but captain Hasyim is still seeking for ex- Metal Zombies captain, Fayyaz's signature despite prostests by teammates. That's all for XenoNews.

MAJOR EDIT: Captain Hasyim has successfully signed striker Fayyaz and he and Haiqal will join the trainings when school re-opens. Fayyaz's assigned number is 17.

'I feel very dissapointed as both great players(Anthony and Kelvin) have not been contributing enough to the team . But Kelvin have made effort to come at certain times .So there is not really a need to kick them out . It all depends on their future deeds . - stated Hasyim

'They(Fayyaz abd Haiqal) will be a great help to Xenon as both are talented and they just happen to be free at the proper timing to be Xenons .' - added the Xenon captain.

Retrenchment List & Update

Retrenchment

Due to lack of attendence from some players, Xenon has decided to retrench such players. These are the most considered players & staff for retrenchment. List Includes...

Number 4 - Defender - Kelvin
Number 12 - Striker - Anthony

This post is not a confirmation for player retrenchment, just a mere formal warning to players due to the economic downturn.

Update

Since the disband of Metal Zombies from a source, (Name Not Stated Due To Agreement Purposes) Xenon members has considered of bidding back their former teamate and vice-captain, Nicholas. This is not yet supported whether it is REAL OR RUMOR. But one fact that is stated is the discussion of signing Fayyaz and Haiqal. Fadhli's retirement is not true due to his expiry contract date of 2011

Mixed Feelings In Matches

Today,we had our usual training in the Woodlands court. After meeting up,we had two matches against different Woodlands Sec teams. In the first match,we played out an convincing victory with a scoreline of xenon 3-1 woodlands sec team 1. Hasyim made an immense contribution by scoring a hat-trick.Ratesh let in a goal late on,but made some good saves to redeem himself.Good job Ratesh(<---Really).

However,we lost the next match to Woodlands Sec team 2 with a similar 3-1 score.Fadhli,Jin Xuan and Hasyim were not available for this match as they were low on energy after the first epic match.Luqman played on,however, with me and........Zul replacing the other players. We let in 2 early goals with Ratesh just standing still when they scored the first. The second was, however,a unlucky goal.Ratesh saved a shot with his superb goalkeeping skills(<---Really),but made a hassle of a clearance by sending it straight to Luqman and into the empty net. However,at that difficult situation,Fadhli made a timely comeback, replacing Zul.He made an instant impact, giving the opponent's defenders a hard time, and eventually with a great shot he reduced the deficit by half. After that goal,we were more determined than ever, with Luqman,Keng Hao and ........Zul defending stoutly, making brave tackles and marking well.We frustrated their strikers and created several counter-attacking chances. For our tired(due to playing for long periods) strikers, however,it was too much to beat their firm defense and beat their superb goalkeeper. The opponents then swarmed forward in numbers, and one of their strikers made two shots, the second from a rebound.Ratesh pulled off a amazing double save, but the ball again fell to their striker, who this time shot it straight at Ratesh's agile legs(<---Really) and into the goal.

At the end of the day,it was a job well done for Xenon, and all our players also improved alot.

Note:Anthony is close to being retrenched because of poor attendance.

Note(2):This is Xing Yang here posting,as Fadhli and Luqman have gave me the permission to update the blog.I know my posts are long,so if you don't like them, tell me and I will post match highlights with just the scorers.

Note(3): Read Xenon Fan Club for the latest updates.

From your defender,
Xing Yang.

Mid Year Scouting

As the end of the first half of the year concludes in two weeks' time, Xenon will look forward to freshen the first team up with recruiting new young talents. This also means that some players will have to be retrenched due to these reasons: unconvincing performance and poor attendance. Their unwillingness to participate in any Xenon activities may contribute to their retrenchment. The players will not be mentioned yet but they will almost certainly spend their remaining Xenon career before the Mid-Year holidays. Xenon will begin its scouting tommorow until the last day of May, most probably Seconday Ones who could be contacted anytime and have potential to replace their departed seniors. Captain Hasyim and defender Luqman has targeted at some youngsters to join Xenon. That's all for the latest XenoNews.

5 Tan Xing Yang

11 Syazwi Faidhi

Italic defines subtistute*

The light drizzle did not dampen the obvious enthusiasm showed by fellow Xenons who travelled to Greenwood field for the match between Xenon and Ghaffar FC, captained by ex-Xenon, Ghaffar. The line-up for Xenon was Nabil(GK), Keng Hao(DF), Xing Yang(DF), Luqman(DF),Sijie(MF),Hasyim(MF), Fadhli(MF), Syazwi(FW). Xenon adopted an attacking-minded approachwhich caused attackers like Sijie, Hasyim, Fadhli and Syazwi to play a pass-and-shoot technique and only play defensively when there was trouble. The Home side had a one-goal lead after a mistake by Nabil to manage the home team unconditionally but redeemed himself by making a string of excelent saves. Minutes later, Fadhli, Hasyim and Syazwi play passing well and a visionary cross from Hasyim made Syazwi equalised. Xenon struggled when Fadhli found the ball and shot it pass to breakhrough the deadlock. 2-1 and Xenon was still hungry. Fantastic marking and tackling from the defensive duo of Luqman and Keng Hao caused the team no problem but a failure to clear the ball properly by Keng Hao resulted in the Home side to equalise again. Xenon propelled forward and goals from Syazwi and Fadhli set-up by Hasyim gained Xenon an upper hand. Syazwi completed his hat-trick but scoring a scorcher before half time. Ghaffar FC 2-5 Xenon before half time.

Tension rised as ex-Xenon, Haiqal refused to play with Ghaffar FC due to not blending with the team well. Handicapped, the home side ordered Xenon to drop one of its players to make it a 6-on-6 match. Xenon half-heartedly dropped midfielder Sijie and joined subtistute Xing Yang on the bench. The whistle was blown and Fadhli played a weak game, not able to receive passes properly and failed to shoot due despite given chances. Despite that, Syazwi scored two more goals to add to his collection but the defence of Xenon was weakened due to the drop of Sijie. As such, Ghaffar FC scored two more goals, one by a deflection and the other an own goal by Keng Hao. Keng Hao was subtistuted with Xing Yang to command the defence and within short minutes, Syazwi another goal this time by a short pass from Fadhli. Fadhli was subbed with Sijie and Xenon played more defensively. The final whistle was blown and Xenon have all the reasons to celebrate. Final score : Ghaffar FC 4-8 Xenon.
