Xenon Streaks

Okay Xenon is now back after the Common Test Break and they have start the year with a few records. Firstly Xenon had a 4 game winning streak. It was a friday on the 4 of March and Xenon won all their matches on that day. The opponents were Riverside Graduates. The first match a 4 on 4 where Hasyim,Syazwi,Luqman and Zul played and won 7-2. The next match, Fayyaz was added and we won 7-3. The next match, it was obvious that we were getting tired but we still won by a close margin,5-4. The next match was a long and tiring match but in the end we won 2-1. The man of day was the Captain Hasyim whom assisted in at least 75% of the scores and scoring 5 goals in one day. Syazwi was the top scorer of the day with 7 goals.

Second is the goaling streak by Fadhli,Syazwi,Zul and Luqman who have scored 5 goals in 5 straight matches.

That's the XenoNews for now.

First Post

Xenon is finally back after a 5-month hiatus! However, there are some important news that are needed to be conveyed. Firstly, three players have officially quit due to personal reasons. They are:

Number 1 - Ratesh Raj
Number 6 - Liu Sijie
Number 23 - Anthony

Secondly, Xenon are in negotiations with former winger Sean Tan to bring him back here. The 15-year old midfielder has attended recent trainings and appeared on the previous match against Young Hearts in which we lost 3-0. Considering our lack of defenders and no senior goalkeeper in the 11-man squad, we managed to hold them back until late errors surfaced. It was considered a warm-up friendly before we kick off our footballing year of 2010.

Finally, I am proud to announce that XENONB FC IS BACK!!!

Saturday, January 2, 2010

It's a new year,and it's a new start.
Let's all hope we can earn some silverware this season,by entering competitions together.
Make this a successful 2010!

Transfer Updates

After a successful transfer bid, Muhammad Ghaffar has finally joined Xenon on a free transfer. He is known to be an agressive defender and is in the school team along with Hasyim, Nicholas and Syazwi. His temporary number is 25 but this is tentative.

'I am proud to be back in my old team to contribute to Xenon's growth. I hope I can be an inspiration to my teammates once I show them my talent on the pitch', said the former Acid Reflux captain.

Welcome to -
Number 25 - Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar - Left Back

In the 'OUTS' section, Noh is apparently still unsettled but Fayyaz has pledged his allegiance to Xenon for the time being. Another defender, Muhammad Zulhilmi is also speculated to leave Xenon after given his first marching orders by vice-captain Syazwi. This is not finalised yet.

Transfer Rumours

They say it's better to be safe than sorry. WIth Fayyaz and Noh both unsettled at Xenon FC, Xenon launched transfer bids or rathers back-up plans in case these two players do leave.

Ex-Xenon Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar is courted to make a comeback to this team after attending most of Xenon free plays. He will will ideal to add steel to our defence with partnering Keng Hao in the centre while Luqman plays wing-back. This is not confirmed though but Xenon will make a transfer bid for the Acid Reflux captain.

Hello loyal Xenon fans,
I am going to update you with the some of the latest news.

It seems there has been alot of scuffles and misunderstanding between the players recently, and it looks like our key players Fayyaz and Noh might be on the verge of quitting the club. The reason cannot be revealed, but don't worry fans, we will likely be doing our utmost to persuade these two players to stay.

To lighter matters, the new red and black kit has finally made it's debut. Do the jersey proud, Xenons.

Xing Yang.

Sean Tan - The Legend

Xenon would like to sadly announce the departure of a fellow key player, Sean Tan. He quitted Xenon over financial disagreements and is attempting to join either Young Hearts or Acid Reflux.

Farewell to -
Number 16 - Sean Tan - Left Midfielder

Secondly, the 2009/10 home kit has been revealed to be a red adidas with black stripes, complete with a logo, number and names. Xenon acheved 100% purchase from all the players and will hope this feat will be repeated for future activities.

EDIT: First-choice goalkeeper Muhammad Nabil is injured and will be out of action possibly for the next few weeks. He will be succeeded by Muhammad Ilyas , the third choice instead of Ratesh Raj who is rumoured to leave Xenon FC after a fallout with some of his teammates. Thus, Ilyas will be second-choice and will carry the number 1 shirt for the year 2010.

Xenon 3-2 Acid Reflux

A late winner by Hasyim sealed the win for Xenon after a nervous display showcased by the two sides, including Acid Reflux.

It was a 8 v 8 field match with Ilyas, Zul, Sijie, Keng Hao, Fadhli, Fayyaz, Haiqal(14) , Nicholas and Fayyaz starting. Ilyas replacing Nabil due to a wrist injury and Sijie replacing Luqman as Full Back. Key players like Luqman ,Nabil and Xing Yang were missing.Xenon started strongly with Fadhli making errors in midfield but Fayyaz soon found the net with a scorching long shot. Acid Reflux responded with a goal by Ghaffar as he made a simple tap towards the goalpost after retrieving a searching cross by his teammate. Xenon made two changes, switching Haiqal(14) for Haiqal(4) and Zul for Syazwi. Syazwi became an emergency Centre Back and combined well with Keng Hao to provide solid defending. On the other half of the field, Haiqal (4) and Nicholas played the wings with Fayyaz as the lone striker. Shots either hit the post or went well wide until Ghaffar implemented a 9 v 9 match. Hasyim was called in for Xenon and scored a goal went the opposition keeper let the goalposts be open. 2-1 in favour of Xenon.

Xenon soon showed signs of weakness as ball was given away freely and when a Reflux player shot,Ilyas ,managed to grab the ball but it was robbed away from a Reflux striker and scored. The intensity level rised as each sides tried to find a way to break through each other goalposts. But soon Haiqal (4) managed to shoot furiously but it rebounded off the goalie causing Hasyim to give a simple tap in and scored. Full time soon arrived and final score 3-2.

Yes, my post is not as detailed as Xing Yang's but he was on-leave.

Overall, Xenon slightly under-performed and will try to improve the next match.

Transfer Updates

The Xenon commitee delightedly would like to announce the arrival of these following players.

Number 14 - Muhammad Haiqal - ??? Midfielder
Number 15 - Muhammad Noh - Left Back
Number 23 - Anthony Kang - Second Striker

Muhammad Haiqal, not to be mistaken for the number 4 defensive midfielder, has been recommended to be added to the team after Fayyaz and Syazwi's advices. Having played for Metal Zombies, he posseses pace and creativity on the field. He is given the number 14 shirt. This will increase the size of midfield, bringing the total to seven. Muhammad Noh, a former Acid Reflux player has been given a contract after impressing during trials. He is set to replace Jin Xuan ans first choice left-back meaning Zulhilmi has to wait for his time to shine. He has aggresion but he will begin with Underdogs trainings. Last but no the least, ex-member and Underdogs favourite Anthony Kang returns as he made a huge impression during the trainings. He will answer Xenon's need for another striker.

On October 2009, a new Xenon jersey will be revealed replacing the old one. All members are able to purchase it except for Keng Hao who has difficulties.

Updeads

Throughout the intensive three-day training sessions, many ups and downs occured. Here's a quick update of Xenon.

This following player has been retrenched due to personal reasons. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Number 15 - Chan Jin Xuan - Left Back

Xenon has also been loaded with tons of tranfer rumours. Former Xenon player Ghaffar has been reported attending trainings with his former teammates. Could he be a new addition for Xenon before the post-term season begins? Secondly, Xing Yang has hinted he might leave the club after a scuffle with Sean, Zul and an unidentified player. His leave will spell a defensive crisis for Xenon after the departure of Jin Xuan. Ratesh Raj will also be back in Xenon after an unsuccessful loan with Acid Reflux. He will resume his training next two weeks.

Captain Hasyim was generally happy with the super attendance of players. Out of the 16players, only Ratesh and Jin Xuan did not attend any trainings. Midfield enforcer Liu Sijie has been praised by many as a loyal, skillful and most improved player after the trainings. He might be in the starting line-up for the Young Hearts fixture in October. This achievement earned him the Player-Of-September award after months of no receipients.

Xenon did well in matches too. Although only one official Xenon match was played which was against a Qihua group and a respectable 2-0 scoreline was produced courtesy of Sean Tan's brace, many major improvements could be spotted within the club. The team consists of fringe players (Nabil,Sean,Zul,Sijie,Keng Hao) an yet they produced a breathtaking display, The Founding Five did not disappoint as well. All players including Luqman have found the net.

That's all for Updeads.

We will play against North Titans FC,a Sembawang team and has no relations with Young Hearts. Yes, a whole new team but Xenon can expect to see some familliar faces.

Captain Hasyim has also confirmed a Diamond formation used by Chelsea will be used for the upcoming fixture. The formation will look something like this:

Starting XI:
Goalkeeper - Nabil
Right Back - Xing Yang
Centre Back - Keng Hao
Centre Back - Farhan
Left Back - Nashir
Defensive Midfielder - Haiqal
Right Wing - Hasyim

Ok this is it. Luqman cannot make it so Xing Yang will reclaim his role as first choice Right Back. Keng Hao, Farhan, Nashir and Nabil are no differences to the back five. But the biggest surprise is - Sean playing as Second Striker. Can he prove his worth by operating in this position? Find out this Friday.

New Kit Latest News

It is confirmed that during the September holidays, a new Xenon kit will be unveiled to replace the humble orange one. All Xenons are required to purchase their respective jerseys unless due to financial problems. Those who do not want to buy the jersey because of nonsencical reasons, they might be retrenched. Xenon are to be prepared to put aside $30-$35 for their jerseys. It can be used for tournaments and friendlies.

Secondly, all Xenon activities will stop from the week of 4 August onwards. All activities will resume after the Common Tests. That's all for XenoNews.

EDIT: Second choice goalkeeper Ratesh Raj will be on-loan to Acid Reflux FC until further notice.

Special Training

Xenons, take note. There will be a special Xenon on-field training at the Sembawang field this Friday and all fit players are required to attend this training. This three-hour programme will enhance Xenons' performance on the field in terms of basic skills like passing, shooting, man-marking and so on. At the end of the day, there will be a match between one half of Xenon and another half. The traiining will also determine the starting eleven against a Woodlands team next week.

Next, on the same day itself, Xenon will hold a trial for Young Hearts United FC striker, Heirul. Captain Hasyim has expresses his interest in signing the youngster after his superb performance against Xenon on two separate occasions. If the deal is sealed, Xenon's attack force is very much increased due to the previous two signings of Nicholas and Sean.

Finally, there will be a normal training tommorow. That's all for XenoNews.

Revenge of the Fallen

Starting line up: Fadhli(striker,played 90minutes), Hasyim(striker,played 90 minutes), Sean Tan(left midfielder,played 90 minutes), Syazwi(central midfielder,played 85 minutes), Sijie(right midfielder,played 20+5 minutes), Farhan(left back [guest] ,played 90 minutes),Nashir(centre back [guest ],played 90 minutes), Luqman(right back,played 90 minutes) , Keng Hao(center back, played 80 mins), Nabil(Goalkeeper,played 80 minutes)

Subs:Ratesh (subbed on at 75th minute,played 15 minutes), Xing Yang(Subbed on at 20th minute,played 60 minutes), Zulhilmi(Subbed on at 75th minute,played 15 minutes)

Today,at Young Hearts'(aka North Kryse) sembawang field,Xenon pulled off a scintillating win over the home team. The scoreline was Xenon 5 : 3 Young Hearts, with the man of the match,as recommended by Fadhli, being vice-captain Syazwi.

The match started out in the worst possible way for Xenon, with lax marking and poor judgement of passes resulting in 3 quick, consecutive goals in 15 minutes for Young Hearts. However,Xenon woke up after the poor showing, and started an remarkable comeback.

After several close chances for Xenon was wasted,Syazwi skipped past 2 defenders before hammering in a powerful shot past the goalkeeper for the start of the eventual reversal. Then,a handball from a Hearts player ensured a penalty for us.The penalty was taken by Syazwi, who after having his shot saved, converted the rebound to reduce the deficit to one. After that, more good chances for Xenon were denied by some find saves from the opposition goalkeeper, but even he could not stop Fadhli from scoring the imminent equaliser,by squeezing in a great shot from a narrow angle. The half time whistle did not stop Xenon from their hot streak, though.

After the half time break,we piled the pressure on their defense, circulating fine passes and allowing little movement from their strikers with close man-marking.Syazwi put Xenon one goal up for the first time in the match,by steering a thunderbolt from long range, and shortly after, sending a teasing cross to the center for Fadhli, who tapped the ball in at the far post to complete the comeback.

This is a "Revenge of the fallen" indeed.Well done Xenons, for getting a thoroughly deserved win,and showing great will and determination to make the comeback.

Transfer Rumours: Exits and Arrivals

These transfer rumours does not neccesarily affect the opinions reflected by Xenon FC.

The transfer season is not over and and many rumours have already surfaced. First up, North Hotspurs, formerly North Kryse has mentioned their interest in Xenon's vice captain Syazwi Faidhi. The captain has told them they had thier eyes on him after the match. Xenon however declined to comment. Secondly, former winger Nicholas Ng might rejoin Xenon afterall, after privately joining the Underdogs. He will make his final decision by the end of next week. Finally, Muhd Zulhilmi might be making his way out after commenting that he did not have enough starts. Again, Xenon declined to comment.

Defenders Ang Keng Hao and Chan Jin Xuan will be out for the rest of the term. They both have the same reasons- limited playing time due to parental order. They will be back after the comment tests.

Xenon effort shines despite defeat

Just a week after crushing Crimson FC,Xenon was brought back down to earth with a tight defeat against North Kryse FC.The scoreline was North Kryse 12-9 Xenon. The match was played at North Kryse FC's home ground sembawang field. The pitch was soggy after a huge downpour, making the match less free-flowing than any match we had before. Both set of player's resilience shone through however,as the goals weighed in one after another. The match was poised nicely at half time when the score was tied at 4-4.In the second half however,Xenon played a high line in search of a lead, but we were cruelly exposed at the back, where their strikers often ran into space without being marked. We ended up playing the price,as the opposition managed to get cheap goals off some error-proned defending.Xenon did, however, manage to stay in the game by scoring more goals,a result of our offensive approach.Fadhli,Syazwi, and our vice captain's friend all made the scoring charts for Xenon, while a goal went in off a deflection, the scorer remaining unconfirmed.

In the end, however, exhaustion and frustation mounted, and North Kryse managed to get the final win.

Come on Xenon,we must manage to get over this defeat, and start a new winning streak. That is Xenon's style.

Post by:Xing Yang

P.S. Ratesh also got a good game,with a whopping 2 saves.

Crimson FC match update

It has been a long time since the last match report. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused
This is a quick update of our match against Crimson FC.The scoreline was Xenon 15 : 0 Crimson FC.
The top scorer of the match was our reliable captain Hasyim and vice-captain Syazwi.Striker Fayyaz notched up four goals, and Fadhli scored a spectacular long range rocket.

Good job Xenons,15 goals without reply is no mean feat, and long may that continue.

Crimson Fc vs

Xenons please take note, there will be a new fixture coming out tommorow on 3 July 2009 against the refreshed Ghaffar Fc,now known as Crimson FC led by ex-Xenon defender Ghaffar. It will be a full 90 minutes 11 a-side field match at Evergreen Primary School. It is understood that many new faces will appear in the match and the starting 11 is somewhat rotated. 3pm is the time and all Xenons are required to wear the jersey or PE shirts.

'I'm glad I'm finally being able to participate in a match. I can't wait!'said Ratesh Raj.

'This match is a good start to assess the team before facing future challenges,' explained captain Hasyim.

The captain has also finalised the starting XI for tommorow's match..
Starting XI:
Goalkeeper - Ratesh
Right Back - Xing Yang
Centre Back - Nabil
Centre Back - Luqman
Left Back - Zulhilmi
Right Wing - Syazwi
Centre Attacking Midfielder - Haiqal
Centre Defensive Midfielder - Ilyas
Left Wing - Hasyim
Centre Forward - Fayyaz
Second Striker - Fadhli

Subs:
Centre Attacking Midfielder - Sijie

Injuries/Absence

Playing with a weakened defence without the experience of Jin Xuan and Keng Hao, Xenon opted to elect Nabil as defender and Zul received a last-minute call-up as the direct replacement for Jin Xuan. Haiqal was chosen over the more seasoned Sijie and Ilyas will be a great asset in terms of defence. Fayyaz will make his debut and fill in the shoes left by ex-Xenon Anthony. That's all for XenoNews.

Updates

Our good old friend, goal counter is published after strong demand for it to be put up again since its departure last year. Goals will be closely monitored and recorded and players will not have to worry about their goals not being 'spotlighted'. Only goals produced from official matches will be recorded and the ones that are produced in trainings or free play are not counted.

Secondly, there is an Underdog training held today and newly-appointed forward Fayyaz began his first training and not surprisingly, with the Underdogs. Zulhilmi improved tremedously(serious) and his teammates agree that he should be back in the starting eleven after a long absence. Nothing much to elaborate here...

Former striker Anthony Kang showed up surprisingly for today's Underdogs' training and sparked interest for his contract renewal. The conclusion if he will rejoin Xenon will remain a summer curiousity.

Transfer Updates

This post is to inform you that these players have been retrenched due to poor attendance:

Number 4 - Defender - Kelvin
Number 12 - Striker - Anthony

May these players find a better future outside Xenon. Next, ex- Xenon Muhd Haiqal has been signed in Xenon and his assigned number is 4 with an undisclosed fee. He will operate as Centre Attacking Midfielder and is capable of doing good counter-attacks. Finally, with the departure of Kelvin, Number 14 Chan Jin Xuan has been upgraded to Centre Back defender and his number will change to 15. Summer move for Nicholas is dismissed but captain Hasyim is still seeking for ex- Metal Zombies captain, Fayyaz's signature despite prostests by teammates. That's all for XenoNews.

MAJOR EDIT: Captain Hasyim has successfully signed striker Fayyaz and he and Haiqal will join the trainings when school re-opens. Fayyaz's assigned number is 17.

'I feel very dissapointed as both great players(Anthony and Kelvin) have not been contributing enough to the team . But Kelvin have made effort to come at certain times .So there is not really a need to kick them out . It all depends on their future deeds . - stated Hasyim

'They(Fayyaz abd Haiqal) will be a great help to Xenon as both are talented and they just happen to be free at the proper timing to be Xenons .' - added the Xenon captain.

Retrenchment List & Update

Retrenchment

Due to lack of attendence from some players, Xenon has decided to retrench such players. These are the most considered players & staff for retrenchment. List Includes...

Number 4 - Defender - Kelvin
Number 12 - Striker - Anthony

This post is not a confirmation for player retrenchment, just a mere formal warning to players due to the economic downturn.

Update

Since the disband of Metal Zombies from a source, (Name Not Stated Due To Agreement Purposes) Xenon members has considered of bidding back their former teamate and vice-captain, Nicholas. This is not yet supported whether it is REAL OR RUMOR. But one fact that is stated is the discussion of signing Fayyaz and Haiqal. Fadhli's retirement is not true due to his expiry contract date of 2011

Mixed Feelings In Matches

Today,we had our usual training in the Woodlands court. After meeting up,we had two matches against different Woodlands Sec teams. In the first match,we played out an convincing victory with a scoreline of xenon 3-1 woodlands sec team 1. Hasyim made an immense contribution by scoring a hat-trick.Ratesh let in a goal late on,but made some good saves to redeem himself.Good job Ratesh(<---Really).

However,we lost the next match to Woodlands Sec team 2 with a similar 3-1 score.Fadhli,Jin Xuan and Hasyim were not available for this match as they were low on energy after the first epic match.Luqman played on,however, with me and........Zul replacing the other players. We let in 2 early goals with Ratesh just standing still when they scored the first. The second was, however,a unlucky goal.Ratesh saved a shot with his superb goalkeeping skills(<---Really),but made a hassle of a clearance by sending it straight to Luqman and into the empty net. However,at that difficult situation,Fadhli made a timely comeback, replacing Zul.He made an instant impact, giving the opponent's defenders a hard time, and eventually with a great shot he reduced the deficit by half. After that goal,we were more determined than ever, with Luqman,Keng Hao and ........Zul defending stoutly, making brave tackles and marking well.We frustrated their strikers and created several counter-attacking chances. For our tired(due to playing for long periods) strikers, however,it was too much to beat their firm defense and beat their superb goalkeeper. The opponents then swarmed forward in numbers, and one of their strikers made two shots, the second from a rebound.Ratesh pulled off a amazing double save, but the ball again fell to their striker, who this time shot it straight at Ratesh's agile legs(<---Really) and into the goal.

At the end of the day,it was a job well done for Xenon, and all our players also improved alot.

Note:Anthony is close to being retrenched because of poor attendance.

Note(2):This is Xing Yang here posting,as Fadhli and Luqman have gave me the permission to update the blog.I know my posts are long,so if you don't like them, tell me and I will post match highlights with just the scorers.

Note(3): Read Xenon Fan Club for the latest updates.

From your defender,

Mid Year Scouting

As the end of the first half of the year concludes in two weeks' time, Xenon will look forward to freshen the first team up with recruiting new young talents. This also means that some players will have to be retrenched due to these reasons: unconvincing performance and poor attendance. Their unwillingness to participate in any Xenon activities may contribute to their retrenchment. The players will not be mentioned yet but they will almost certainly spend their remaining Xenon career before the Mid-Year holidays. Xenon will begin its scouting tommorow until the last day of May, most probably Seconday Ones who could be contacted anytime and have potential to replace their departed seniors. Captain Hasyim and defender Luqman has targeted at some youngsters to join Xenon. That's all for the latest XenoNews.

Ghaffar FC 4-8 Xenon

Xenon
1 Muhd Nabil
2 Ang Keng Hao
5 Tan Xing Yang
8 Luqman Haziq
6 Liu Sijie
7 Muhd Hasyim
10 Muhd Fadhli
11 Syazwi Faidhi

Italic defines subtistute*

The light drizzle did not dampen the obvious enthusiasm showed by fellow Xenons who travelled to Greenwood field for the match between Xenon and Ghaffar FC, captained by ex-Xenon, Ghaffar. The line-up for Xenon was Nabil(GK), Keng Hao(DF), Xing Yang(DF), Luqman(DF),Sijie(MF),Hasyim(MF), Fadhli(MF), Syazwi(FW). Xenon adopted an attacking-minded approachwhich caused attackers like Sijie, Hasyim, Fadhli and Syazwi to play a pass-and-shoot technique and only play defensively when there was trouble. The Home side had a one-goal lead after a mistake by Nabil to manage the home team unconditionally but redeemed himself by making a string of excelent saves. Minutes later, Fadhli, Hasyim and Syazwi play passing well and a visionary cross from Hasyim made Syazwi equalised. Xenon struggled when Fadhli found the ball and shot it pass to breakhrough the deadlock. 2-1 and Xenon was still hungry.
